- Aurora
- My name is Aurora, and I'm a twenty-something year old English teacher. Once again, I find myself thrust into the turbulant world of dating after a three-year serious relationship. Early in my writing career, I discovered that my muse has an unhealthy phobia of newly minted notebooks and computer screens with a blinking cursor. I find it easiest to write on things that are meant to be thrown away: cocktail napkins, the backs of used envelopes, paper placemats, reciepts. Some people consider it eccentric, I see it as another way of going green.

i wish i could offer some real advice, but all i can say is try to keep calm. this will be difficult, and im sure there are a 1001 things you want to say. the best you can do is stay calm, stay focused and keep breathing

Go, give him his stuff back, don't say a word about the woman he has chosen and keep walking?
YAY! This is good. Right?! So just stay calm- mention NOTHING about the current chick. That will only piss him off. Just basically ask him if you can talk and see where it goes.

my advice, though I wouldn't press you to follow it, would be a combination of the above:
1) Most important: do not mention the girl. There is no need.
2) ASK him if you guys can talk. Be honest, say the "talk" is about you guys and you just need to get some stuff out and see if he needs anything
3) if he says he doesn't want to, or if you get a vibe he doesn't, I honestly wouldn't force the issue. Give him his stuff, walk away, and live your life.
You kinda have two ways to play this. I'm pretty sure he is thinking that you are going to want to talk, so he is probably semi-prepared for it. So a) you can go with what's expected and just talk to him or b) like I said above, if you don't feel the right vibe, just walk away and really get to him.
